Australian Farmer Succeeds In Growing First Ever ‘Seedless Lychees’

Seedless lychees or lichis are no more just a ‘wishful thinking’ because a farmer in Australia has successfully developed the first of its kind. Tibby Dixon, from Sarina Beach in Far North Queensland, after 19 years of hard work and shelling out US$5,000 on a single fruit tree be bought from China has developed the first ever seedless leeches through selective breeding and cross-pollinating flowers over the past few decades.

The club recorded 152 stings in the 2020-21 patrol season, compared to just 10 the previous season.
In contrast, Mackay cut its marine stings count from 41 in 2019-20 to 19 this season.

With the waters getting cooler the central Queensland, surf lifesaving season has come to a finish.
The Labour Day long weekend was the last opportunity Mackay locals had to make splash under the watchful eyes of lifesavers until the patrolled beaches return in spring.
Eimeo Surf Lifesaving Club president Ross Gee was pleased with how the 2020-21 season went.
Mr Gee said there had been fewer stingers than usual, with only three minor stings recorded and thankfully the club did not have to perform any rescues.
“We’re really on top of our preventive actions,” he said.
