CLEMSON, S.C. The Clemson cross country team has announced its 2022 schedule, featuring four competitions prior to ACC Championships hosted this year by the University of Virginia. The season begins on September 2 with the Kennesaw State vs. Clemson Dual Meet held in Kennesaw, Ga. FULL SCHEDULE: Sept. 2: KSU vs. Clemson Dual Meet - Kennesaw, Ga. Sept. 17: Furman Invitational - Greenville, S.C. Oct. 1: Live in Lou - Louisville, Ky. Oct. 14: Crimson Classic - Tuscaloosa, Ala. Oct. 28: ACC Championships - Charlottesville, Va. Nov. 11: South East Regionals - Louisville, Ky. Nov. 19: NCAA Championships - Stillwater, Okla. Head Coach Vicky Pounds enters her fourth year at the helm of the program, and is looking to see improvement from her squad. With another year under the belt of some experienced runners and a talented incoming freshman class, the Tigers are hoping to compete in a talented conference featuring the reigning National Champions in NC State. NOTRE DAME, Ind. The men's and women's Clemson cross country teams competed this morning at the ACC Championship meet in Notre Dame, Ind. The Tigers finished 15th in the women's 6K race and 13th in the men's 8K. On the women's side, Leah Disher set the top mark for the Tigers, completing the 6K course with a time of 21:55.4, good for 74th in the field that included five top-30 ranked teams. Andrea Foster trailed behind her and finished in 22:19.0. The men were paced by Samuel Garringer, whose time of 25:42.7 was the 100th fastest in the field. Freshman Sawyer Dagan crossed the line shortly after him, finishing in 109th with a time of 26:23.5. Up next, the Tigers close out their season at the NCAA Regional Championships in Lexington, Ky. That meet takes place on Friday, Nov. 12. Clemson's cross country team will compete in the Atlantic Coast Conference Cross County Championships on Friday, October 29. The Women’s Championship is set for a 10:10 a.m. start, followed by the Men’s Championship at 11 a.m. ACC Network plans live coverage of both meets, beginning with the Packer and Durham morning show originating live from the Championships site from 7-10 a.m. Clemson will look to improve upon last season's performance when the Tigers finished 11th in the men's race and 13th on the women's side. HOOVER, Ala. The Clemson cross country team competed at the Blazer Classic hosted by UAB on Saturday morning. The Tigers finished fourth in the women's 6k and 10th in the men's 8k.Sam Garringer ran what Head Coach Vicky Pounds called "The best race of his Clemson career." His mark of 24:53.88 was the fifth fastest time in the field of 177 runners. Freshman Sawyer Dagan was the second finisher for the Tigers on the men's side, posting a 25:47.12, good for 33rd-best in the race.Leah Disher and Josie Wirtz were neck and neck all race, both finishing with personal bests of 22:03.73 and 22:05.12, which placed them 15th and 16th, respectively, out of 151 total runners.The Blazer Classic was the Tigers last tune-up before the ACC Championships in Notre Dame on October 29. The Clemson cross country team hits the road to Hoover, Ala. for the Blazer Classic on Saturday morning. 21 total schools will participate in the meet, which serves as Clemson's last before the ACC Championships in Notre Dame, Ind.
