Herkimer Central School District has announced the Class of 2023 valedictorian as Izabella Vredenburg and the salutatorian as Joshua Leskovar.

Local jails are beginning the process to vaccinate their inmates against COVID-19 after a judge Monday ordered it was unjust for New York state to deny inmates in prisons and jails access. "We're compiling a list of inmates that actually want it," Herkimer County Undersheriff Scott Leskovar said Wednesday. There are 27 inmates housed at the jail, as well as a dozen boarded at other jails, Leskovar said.
