Acushnet: 1,030 On Jan. 15, Montigny and Pacheco, along with 26 other legislators, wrote a letter to Secretary Marylou Sudders of Health and Human Services along with Gov. Charlie Baker demanding that a local site be established after noticing the closest location was Gillette Stadium. For those who do not have reliable transportation and cannot travel via public transportation outside of the Greater New Bedford area, vaccination would be nearly impossible. That was the same day Mitchell Tweeted a map of the vaccination sites showing the disparity in southeastern Massachusetts. The vacant Circuit City building in Dartmouth was considered for a vaccination location due to its size and capability to deliver up to 5,000 doses per day. Baker announced the site will begin administering 500 doses per day and scale up to 2,000 doses per day. The Dartmouth location will have the same provider, Curative Inc., as the Danvers site. Like all other mass vaccination locations, vaccinations are free and open to residents. Appointments can be made at mass.gov or by calling 2-1-1 starting Feb. 18.
