The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) rolled out a really cool website that brings you right into the board room where discussions are taking place around design proposals for the I-49 connector project in Lafayette. DOTD According to our media partner at KATC, the virtual reality website is a result of DOTD moving forward with the Context Sensitive Solutions (CSS) process for the project. The website features a VR scale model of the 5.5-mile I-49 Connector. Visitors to the site will have an overview of the Connector and the ability to zoom in on several proposed design features, including bridges, and the retaining and abutment walls.
