Nearly half of Prince William County's eligible residents have received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine, according to the Prince William Health District's vaccine dashboard. (Liam Griffin/Patch)
PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, VA — More than 100,000 Prince William County residents are fully vaccinated, according to the health district's vaccine dashboard. An additional 65,000 people have received their first dose of the coronavirus vaccine, but not the second.
The county's daily vaccination numbers have increased since a mass vaccination clinic was added at the former Gander Mountain location near the Potomac Mills mall in Woodbridge last month. Now, the county averages approximately 5,000 vaccines administered per day, according to the vaccine dashboard.

Virtual Workout For Charity Hosted By Sentara Medical Center

Sentara Medical Center is hosting a free virtual workout event to raise money for the American Heart Association.
WOODBRIDGE, VA — Sentara Medical Center is hosting a virtual workout session on Thursday, Feb. 25 to raise money for the American Heart Association. The workout is being run by Shannon Link of FIT4MOM, and Sentara will donate $10 to charity for each attendee, according to a news release.
Heart disease is the leading cause of death for Americans, according to the CDC. In their news release, Sentara said is is hosting the free event to encourage a healthy diet and exercise for residents, in an effort to mitigate the risk of heart disease.

Bridget Arlene Burgess was born October 7, 1966 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana to Beulah Credit and Eddie Lee Credit.
At an early age, she learned the Christian values of the Catholic faith that would be the guiding principles of her life. She later graduated from Istrouma Senior High School in Baton Rouge, LA with the class of 1984, and attended Louisiana State University, where she became a loyal fan of the purple and gold. In 1987, she embarked upon a life of service by joining the United States Air Force, where she served ten years of active duty, and two years in the Reserves. She fought bravely in the Gulf War in 1990 and 1991. She received several medals such as Joint Service Achievement, Air Force Longevity Service, Air Force Overseas Short Tour Ribbon, and National Defense Service, just to name a few.
