Revisiting ‘Kabori Road’ Ashley Shoptorshi Samaddar Ashley Shoptorshi Samaddar Kabori Road, a street located in the town of Chuadanga, has been around for 47 years. Named after legendary actor Sarah Begum Kabori, there was no official recognition of the name Kabori Road by the state until 2017. In 1969, the Razzak-Kabori starrer film Kakhagaghaunoh was shot in Chuadanga. The entire cast and crew of the film had to stay at a house called Setab Manzil in Chuadanga city. Thus, the road around the house started going by the name Kabori Road . The film was shot by the late Baby Islam with his cousin Morshed Ahmed as his assistant. He was filming in his hometown Chuadanga to reduce the cost of shooting. The film, directed by Narayan Ghosh Mita, was released in 1972 and the house had started being addressed as Kabori Mess.
