신세계, 이베이코리아 3.4조원에 인수... 이커머스 업계 2위로 이베이코리아 지분 80.01% 인수 계약 체결 예정... 이마트 사업구조 온라인과 디지털로 개편 이베이코리아 자료사진ⓒ뉴스1 신세계그룹 이마트(신세계)가 이베이코리아를 인수한다. 신세계는 이베이 미국 본사와 이베이코리아 인수를 위한 ‘지분 양수도 계약(SPA)’을 체결한다고 24일 밝혔다. 신세계가 인수할 이베이코리아 지분 80.01%의 인수가액은 3조4천404억원이다. 이베이코리아 인수로 신세계는 국내 온라인 쇼핑몰 시장 점유율이 네이버에 이어 2위로 올라설 것으로 보인다. G마켓과 옥션, G9 등 3개의 오픈마켓을 운영 중 이베이코리아는 지난해 기준 시장 점유율 12%로 네이버(18%)와 쿠팡(13%)에 이어 3위였다. 여기에 이마트가 운영하는 SSG닷컴(3%)을 더하면 신세계의 시장 점유율은 15%까지 올라간다. 신세계는 이를 계기로 그룹의 사업구조를 ‘온라인과 디지털’로 개편한다는 계획이다. 이베이를 인수하게 되면 이마트 부문 내 온라인 비중은 약 50%에 달한다. 사실상 미래사업의 중심축이 온라인과 디지털로 전환하게 되는 셈이다. 신세계 관계자는 “미래 유통은 온라인 강자만이 살아남을 것”이라며“이번 인수는 단순히 기업을 사는 것이 아니라 시간과 기회를 사는 딜”이라고 강조했다. 특히 충성도 높은 이베이의 270만 유료고객과 국내 최대 규모 수준의 셀러를 얻게 되는 만큼 규모의 경제를 실현하는 ‘극강의 온라인 기업’으로 성장할 수 있을 것이라고 신세계는 기대했다. 또 온라인 풀필먼트센터를 보유하고 있는 SSG닷컴의 노하우를 바탕으로 향후 4년간 1조원 이상을 온라인 풀필먼트 센터에 집중 투자하고, 신세계의 오프라인 거점을 온라인 물류 전진기지로 활용해 물류 경쟁력을 극대화한다는 계획을 밝혔다. 이마트 강희석 대표는 “이베이 인수는 온라인이 아니라 유통판 전체를 재편하는 계기가 될 것”이라고 밝혔다.
