Cats were killed. The homeowner said her dog woke her up before 1 45 this morning in south san jose. She smelled smoke, called 911 and trapped inside the home. Firefighters had to pull her out to safety. 94 or 95 cats inside were killed. The homeowner said she is part of an Animal Rescue Group Contracted with Stanford University to spay the cats on campus, a no Kill Organization so she takes care of the cats she says would not survive being released in the wild.
