WEST Yorkshire Police is looking to “establish the circumstances” surrounding a picture that appeared to show that a PCSO had gone on a day trip hiking with seven other people. The PCSO (914), who did not have their name on their Twitter profile but is an Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) officer covering Bowling and Barkerend, shared a tweet on April 14 about a hill climb she had undertaken. The tweet – which received 19 likes and two replies – said: “Rest day well spent. Walking with the work family. I’m stiff as a board now.” It included the hashtag “Simon’s Seat”, which indicated the group had climbed to the popular summit of Barden Fell, in Wharfedale. ....

DALESBus summer services return to the Yorkshire Dales starting on Saturday with the return of the popular 74 service. This year the 74 service will run from Bradford calling at Ilkley, Addingham and Bolton Bridge and then divert via Embsay, before climbing up over Halton Moor with panoramic views across Barden Moor and surrounding dales to Simon’s Seat, before descending to Barden Tower, Burnsall and Grassington. Services leave Ilkley Bus Station at 10.15am, 12.45pm and 3.45pm. Return services from Grassington National Park Centre leave at 11.30am, 2.30pm and 5pm. From Sunday the all-year round Cravenlink 884 service between Ilkley and Skipton will be extended for the summer months to start from Bradford calling at Shipley and Guiseley to Ilkley and to continue from Skipton to Gargrave, Airton and Malham. Buses leave Ilkley Bus Station at 10.15am and Skipton Bus Station at 10.45am, 12.30pm and 3.30pm. Return services from Malham National Park Centre depart at 11.4 ....
