The $200 million of work being done will clear the way for construction to begin later in 2021. Lightfoot said the city is investing in communities that need it through the project. “Through the creation of jobs, infrastructure enhancements and more, these investments and economic developments will bring about the transformative change our Black and brown communities deserve,” she said. Getty WASHINGTON With a long-running federal review complete, the first pre-construction utility relocation work for the Obama Presidential Center in Jackson Park will start in April, with preliminary roadwork and site preparation to begin as early as August, the Obama Foundation and City Hall announced Wednesday.
