He was served with a warrant from the manhattan warrant squad. it was an out of state warrant, so that s like extraditions. initially he thought this had something to do with his involvement as an informant against his roommate that ultimately had his roommate arrested. we continued and found out that in fact it was a pennsylvania matter where allegedly somebody had stolen his checkbook and written all these checks from his checkbook too. it was funny because they were financially unsavvy people that received these amish breeders that don t really deal day to day, have their own secluded life lifestyle. and when they went to go cash the checks, they learned that there was no money behind the checks. all the checks bounced. so you, then, you helped him. he is someone you d known from years ago. yes. sure, you send an email to pennsylvania state trooper. you argue his case. ....
martha: there s more protests building now in minneapolis after law enforcement officers shot and killed a man they were trying to arrest. police looted stores, smashed windows, set a dumpster on fire. marshalls say the suspect pulled out a gun when officers part of a task force tried to arrest him. minneapolis police say that they were not part of the task force. the marshalls say the man was wanted on a state warrant for being a felon in possession of a firearm. watch that situation in minneapolis. a surge in crime is plaguing american cities. the spike could rise in what is expected to be a volatile summer. the numbers show more americans are stocking up on firearms. in a moment, leo terrell and leslie marshall take that on. first to hillary vaughn. she joins us now reporting live with more. hi, hillary. hi, martha. ....
Henry, do you know the answer to the question that the sheriff sort of just posed which is this: is that when the feds released him to the sheriff is that this was on an old 1995 warrant, and apparently the feds had had him in their custody a number of times and ignored that state warrant before, that bench warrant. but now this time they decided to honor that bench warrant and to turn him over to california. do you know why this time they did that? would the california ask for him? well, that s a good question because we had heard initially that, well, yes, there is a 20 year warrant but according to sheriff, greta this warrant was not acted upon for the first time until this past spring. it s an open question as to why this warrant suddenly came to the attention of everyone. and, of course, today the sheriff said we perhaps needed alj or administrative law judge to help sort out this continuing conflict within the d.a., the sheriff, criminal, local ....
