Enthusiastic support we have for our nert program. And for the ongoing resiliency programs that a number of people have had, and to our resiliency officer, who is helping dem and city administrator think through things around the corner that we need to Pay Attention to. There are a couple of things that i also want to do. Let me say thank you to all of you who have also helped in the lake county sonoma, napa and butte areas in their disaster and maybe a quick moment in our own minds and hearts about the lost lives there. I think its appreciated. And i also want to give particular thank you to our Fire Department, and our firefighters, who over the past week have not only gone up there in as many volunteer hours as possible, with equipment, hopefully we never have to use down here and hopefully, we keep our fires down, but in response to that tremendous disaster that you you a ....
Alzheimers research, even housing policies that allowed our buildings to become more seniorfriendly. Also looking at how to support senior services, neighborhood byneighborhood programs that allow aging in place. People who are getting older helping each other stay in their homes and communities longer so that they can contribute as long as possible, as opposed to institutionalizing them. I support working families, livable communities, definite drawn support for the small business. Even in my district, there are pockets of poverty and many people of work. So it is also about supporting those under employed people, Small Businesses in this difficult economy. There are a lot of vacant storefronts, so we are trying to find people to read these spaces. There is a bookstore over there. This way there are a lot of businesses that have been closing. I support the Small Businesses ....
Good morning. Thank you for joining me here at the board chambers, and thank you to board president david chiu, budget chair mark farrell, members of the board of supervisors, our elected officials, our commissioners, and our department heads. And welcome, members of the public who joined us this morning. This years budget reflects a lot of hard work between City Government and the people that we serve. Weve met in every district of the city. Weve worked with our elected city family. We listened to hundreds of Community Leaders and providers who help us deliver services to the people of San Francisco. And its because of this consensus approach that im proud to propose a responsible and balanced twoyear budget that reflects the core values that we share in San Francisc ....
