U. S. Forecasters say roughly 30 centimeters of snow is expected to fall overnight into friday in the northeast. The system has already barrelled through parts of the midwest. It dumped more than 40 centimeters of snow in some places in illinois, disrupting traffic and other services. Most of the cancelled flights are domestic routes in and out of chicago and new york.
