YORK, Maine –– One team from York High School beat the other YHS team Saturday, Feb. 27, in the Nor easter Bowl, a regional academic competition that is the first step before competing in the National Ocean Sciences Bowl (NOSB) this spring. Before facing off, the two YHS teams competed virtually against eight other teams from Maine and New Hampshire in this year s event, hosted by the University of Maine. Sanford High School, Belfast High School, Falmouth High School and ConVal Regional High School in Peterborough, New Hampshire, all participated in the competition, with each school sending two teams. The York teams produced standout performances in every round of competition before meeting in the final, team coach and YHS Marine Science teacher Mike Masi said. Masi coaches the YHS teams alongside Lindsay Nichols, who teaches Biology and Anatomy Physiology. ....
