House strategy. and they seem a tad defensive. reporter: defensive is one word for it, john. perhaps that s a charitable word for it, as well. i was here late last night and the white house was in fu full-court explanation mode. but trying to get on top of this story. quite simply, they were caught flat-footed by this, which is very difficult to imagine, really, unless you consider the fact that the communications shop here at the white house, and most people working in the west wing, i m told, didn t know about it until right before it happened. i am told this was held by a very close group of people, the president, a few of his top advisers, people simply did not know it was going to happen last evening, around 5:30 or so. now, fast forward until this morning. the white house sent the vice president up to capitol hill to explain this, to essentially do a cleanup duty, if you will, which vice presidents also often are called upon to do. but the president is not expecting to address ....
Person. and that s not how things work. a tad defensive there. a tad defensive. and you know, this is very much like all of the fights that obama was having with immigration activists up until this time. and there was bad blood between those folks and this president, and i think what we see there is just indicative of some of that. whether or not it s lingering, whether or not this executive order and possible immigration reform will wash all that away is unclear. it was interesting because a lot of those activists have since got on board with the president, some of them travelled to nashville with him yesterday as he made the case for executive action. but ramos there s still a lingering tension between so let s close with this. rick santorum in an interview with the washington post makes clear he s running for the republican presidential nomination. a former pennsylvania senator. this time he says it will be different. he was the social conservative knt knd. ....
Less than 24 hours after coasting to reelection, some of chris christie s fellow republicanses seemed to be sharpening their knives. the latest time magazine cover says it all with the title elephant in the room can chris christie win the gop and what will his rivals use against him? we re getting answers from two republican senators who have 2016 aspirations themselves, marco rubio whose past support for comprehensive immigration reform has put him at odds with rand paul who might be just a tad defensive considering the plagiarism scandal. some of these ads, people running for office put their their mug all over these ads while they re in the middle of a political campaign. in new jersey 25 million was spent on ads that included someone running for political office. you think there might be a conflict of interest there. that s a real problem. every race is particular to the state that it s run in so ....
