Tapovan Hydro-Electric Power Dam, also known as Rishi Ganga Project was completely washed off following a glacier burst in the Chamoli district, said the Indian Air Force s initial report as Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) deployed at Joshimath has undertaken recce of affected areas.
The dam is called Tapovan Hydro-Electric Power Dam. It is on the confluence of Dhauli Ganga and Rishi Ganga. As per the recce ....

Chamoli (Uttarakhand) [India], February 8 (ANI): Tapovan Hydro-Electric Power Dam, also known as Rishi Ganga Project was completely washed off following a glacier burst in the Chamoli district, said the Indian Air Force s initial report as Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) deployed at Joshimath has undertaken recce of affected areas.
The dam is called Tapovan Hydro-Electric Power Dam. It is on the confluence of Dhauli Ganga and Rishi Ganga. As per the recce Tapovan dam also called Rishi Ganga Project has been completely washed off, said the report. ....

Over 150 people have lost their lives and over 150 are missing following the massive flood at Reni village in Joshimath area of Uttarakhand’s Chamoli district on Sunday, officials said. Evacuation operations have started along the Dhauliganga and Bhagirathi river banks. Indian Air Force, Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and Indian Army have rushed their teams and infrastructure for the rescue operations. PM Narendra Modi reviewed the situation and took stock of the rescue and relief work.
The ITBP said that the flash flood occurred in Rishi Ganga at around 10.45 a.m. due to a glacier falling into it and exponentially increasing the volume of water. Due to this, the Rishi Ganga hydro project was completely devastated, it said. ....

State, local, and federal authorities are announcing a major drug arrest in Grand Traverse County. It’s a case they’ve been working for several months – coming together with the arrest of a 19 year old earlier this week. That downstate teenager is now facing multiple felony charges.
Capt. Randy Fewless with the Grand Traverse Sheriff’s Office says the message is clear: “If you want to come to Grand Traverse County and deal narcotics, you will be held accountable.”
Sheriff Tom Bensley says the drug problem is real. “It’s there. It’s underground. It’s in the shadows. Don’t think it’s not. It only sees the light of day when we’re able to make arrests.” ....

The West Alabama Human Trafficking Task Force signed a mutual aid agreement with the Alabama Attorney General’s Office on Monday, January 11, 2020.
Attorney General Steve Marshall and the Montgomery Family Sunshine Center, the lead victim service provider, announced they will lead a multiagency alliance of state, federal and nongovernmental partners to combat human trafficking in Alabama. Those coming together include the U.S. Attorney’s Offices for Northern, Middle and Southern Districts, Homeland Security Investigations, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Wellhouse, Ashakiran Inc., West Alabama Human Trafficking Task Force, and Poarch Band of Creek Indians. ....
