Mobile Advertisers' forum President, Otunba Mike denies arrest

The President of League of Confederations and Forum of Mobile Advert Practitioners of Nigeria, Otunba Mike Eboziegbe, has refuted media reports that he was arrested by the police for extorting motorists.
National Task Force Commander of Joint Mobile Sanitation Agency of Nigeria, JOMSAN, was reported to have allegedly told journalists that Otunba Mike was arrested by men of the Inspector General of Police’s team, following a petition against him and his team by JOMSAN.
However, in a swift reaction, Otunba Mike, while addressing journalists in Lagos, on Monday, denied being arrested by the police.
He stated that his association had, in June 2020, written a petition to the Inspector General of Police intimating him of the alleged illegal activities of ALGON/NULGE Task Force in Oshodi/Isolo Local Government Council, Lagos. ....

Dozen: Kostas Alibertis turned dedication to others into lifelong labor of love


A 1985 story in The Daily Progress helped lead Kostas Alibertis to turn his dedication to caring for others down a path to benefit the whole community.
While attending the University of Virginia, Alibertis took an EMT course for general knowledge. A 1985 Progress story said the Western Albemarle Rescue Squad was looking for more help over the summer, and he decided to volunteer.
“I came out here and embraced it, and it became a passion and a love,” he said. “Doing community service is certainly something that is part of who I am as a person.”
Alibertis is on his second, now 20-year long, stint as chief of the rescue squad, one of the few all-volunteer fire or rescue stations left in Albemarle County. ....

Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, on Christmas day, said the Nigerian Air Force could no longer afford to be taken unawares in the fight against insurgency. Abubakar said President Muhammadu Buhari had provided the Air Force all required to take on the enemies, including the requisite manpower and sophisticated aircraft, among other equipment.
Abubakar saluted the gallantry of his men, in spite of unceasing attacks by the terrorists. He vowed that the Air Force would not stop fighting till all Nigerians and their property were safe, adding that the new equipment currently serves as a game changer in the fight against insurgency and other forms of insecurity. ....

Chief of Air Staff celebrates Christmas with troops in Borno

Maiduguri, Dec. 25, 2020 The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Saddique Abubakar, took lunch on Friday with troops of Air Task Force of ” Operation Lafiya Dole” in Maiduguri to celebrate Christmas.
Speaking at the occasion, Abubakar said that the gesture was to fill the vacuum created as a result of troops inability to celebrate with their families.
“This occassion also fosters comradeship and gives us the opportunities to commend ourselves for our collective efforts in the ongoing fight against insurgency.
“It is not easy to quantify your enormous contributions and sacrifice towards the war against insurgency.
“Christmas celebration is all about sacrifice. As such as military professionals, our sacrifices for the unity of Nigeria remains immeasurable. ....
