Disturbing details emerge as police make arrest in deadly Schenectady hit-and-run

SCHENECTADY A city man was driving with a suspended driver s license early Tuesday morning when his car struck and killed a woman, dragging her body for blocks, police said. 
The suspect, Roddy T. Delagrandeanse, 23, was charged Wednesday with leaving the scene of an accident without reporting resulting in death, a felony, for the hit-and-run crash on Broadway that left 61-year-old Carolyn Lord dead.  
Delagrandeanse also faces outstanding  warrants tied to bail jumping and an arrest warrant stemming from multiple traffic and motor-vehicle violations, according to Schenectady Police Sgt. Jeff McCutcheon.   ....

SCHENECTADY Schenectady County on Thursday staged its first COVID vaccination clinic specifically intended to reach the minority community.
Residents age 65 or older in the three Schenectady Municipal Housing Authority complexes near downtown Schenectady were the focus of outreach for the 100 doses available, but any SMHA resident over age 64 was eligible.
“We were assigned 100 doses for residents and staff,” County Manager Rory Fluman said in the early afternoon, midway through the clinic. “And it looks like all the doses are going to be taken by residents.” ....
