If Churchill Downs Inc. is willing to sell Arlington Park racetrack near Chicago, that can’t be a good sign for the future of horse racing. Arlington was one of the nation’s premiere tracks, but Churchill officials told the Illinois Racing Board in September 2019 that racing dates beyond 2021 could not be guaranteed.
