As China’s Army Day comes on Tuesday, the Chinese armed forces are called for to continue to modernize and accomplish entrusted tasks at a time when China’s security situation is facing rising instability and uncertainty.
In a first of such move in 2023, the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) announced on Sunday it conducted joint alert patrol and combat exercises around the island of Taiwan on the day countering collusions between external and “Taiwan independence” forces, with Chinese mainland experts saying that the PLA will only intensify its drills this year if provocations do not stop.
As the US continued its provocation to China by sending a delegation of five lawmakers to China's Taiwan region, the Chinese People's Liberation (PLA) Army Eastern Theater Command organized multi-unit joint combat readiness patrols and real-combat drills in the sea areas and airspace around the Taiwan island on Monday, serving as a firm response and solemn deterrent to the provocation and collusion between the US and the Taiwan island.
