Festival International de Louisiane is kicking off the first day of Festival Month by releasing its musical lineup for the 2021 Virtual Festival.
Fans can tune in from home and host streaming parties to unite for the online celebration.
Festival has also announced plans to take over Acadiana in full force for the entire month of April. Those plans include:
Music Lineup: 51 performances by artists from around the world
New immersive programs: Saturday morning show for kids and Sunday afternoon bingo comedy hour

The polyrhythmic, funk-melodic, grit-soul sounds of Cuban sensation, Cimafunk, are primed to please after the pandemic placed a pause on his rise to superstardom. Fest favorites and Grammy-nominated, Tank and The Bangas will provide a cross-section of aural delights cooked up in the cultural crossroads of New Orleans, and Ukranian band DakhaBrakha will showcase what’s made them one of the most successful international touring bands.

The group were later joined on stage by Jane's daughter Lou Doillon, who honoured her mother's achievements at the awards.
While actress, singer and model Jane herself then joined everyone on stage to accept her honour award (Victoire d'honneur).

To release or not to release? That is the question haunting the music industry as the coronavirus casts doubt over a slew of forthcoming albums.
The Canadian hit-machine Weeknd held his nerve and dropped the 14-track After Hours Friday, with the cult British artist Baxter Dury also going ahead even though he admitted that "it's terrible timing".
The Weeknd's new album for Universal had been heavily trailed on his YouTube channel, which has 17.7 million subscribers.

Not that the three-time Grammy winner is immune to what is going on around him now. The streaming king recently tweeted a video of a quarantined DJ playing one of his songs on a balcony in Italy, the country worst affected by the epidemic.
