T.C. Williams donated a considerable sum to the University of Richmond's law school. He also relied on slave labor in his tobacco and manufacturing businesses. The university's new policy requires them to remove his name from a building. Descendants call this hypocritical and ungrateful and demanded an inflation-adjusted refund with interest of $3.4 billion.

Two are arraigned in city murder cases | News, Sports, Jobs

YOUNGSTOWN — Erik E. Jenkins, 25, of Columbus, was arraigned Tuesday in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court in connection with the March 4 murder of Thomas C. Williams, 34, and the wounding of a security guard.
The shooting took place in the parking lot of King’s Court tavern, 3223 South Ave. Magistrate Dominic DeLaurentis of Mahoning County Common Pleas Court kept Jenkins’ $1 million bond in place after Jenkins pleaded not guilty by video from the Mahoning County jail.
Jenkins was indicted on murder, attempted murder and felonious assault in a case that took a surprising turn when authorities revealed that Jenkins is charged in Williams’ death, but it may not have been his gunshots that killed Williams.

Columbus man indicted in city death | News, Sports, Jobs

YOUNGSTOWN — Erik E. Jenkins, 25, of Columbus has been indicted on murder, attempted murder and felonious assault charges in the March 4 killing of Thomas C. Williams, 34, in the parking lot of King’s Court tavern, 3223 South Ave., and the wounding of a security guard from the tavern.
All three charges also carry specifications of a gun being used.
Jenkins turned himself in at the Mahoning County jail March 16 after Youngstown police Chief Carl Davis, Mayor Jamael Tito Brown and others had a news conference at the Youngstown Police Department to announce that Jenkins had been charged.
During that conference, officials revealed it’s possible the security guard may have been the shooter who killed Williams — but that Jenkins is charged with the murder because he’s the person who allegedly began the gunfight and the security guard fired back.
