Premieres Monday, April 1, 2024 at 11 p.m. on KPBS TV / PBS App. Over the course of a grueling eight months, a crew of Oaxacan guest workers plant trees throughout the United States. WHRO Public Media is dedicated to enhancing the lives of the citizens in the communities it serves by responding to their need to be engaged, educated, entertained and enlightened.
Despite being brought into the United States to plant over 1.5 billion trees a year and promises of decent pay, H-2A guest workers don't always earn what they're promised. Learn more here and watch A Thousand Pines on PBS.
