FINALLY! LA District Attorneys Union Announces It's Seeking a Restraining Order Against Gascon

We’ve reported on the individual Deputy District Attorneys and judges in Los Angeles County who are fighting back against George Gascon’s nonsensical directives in which he decreed a number of misdemeanors that would no longer be prosecuted, instituted blanket, office-wide policies against charging juveniles as adults, against seeking even life in prison, against adding any “enhancements” or special circumstances (i.e., gun, gang, multiple victims) or “strikes” (prior convictions) to charges, and instructed prosecutors to make motions to remove any enhancements, special circumstances, or strikes alleged in pending cases.
As we also reported, many DDA’s in Gascon’s office believe that the directives are unethical and counter to the oaths they swore as members of the California State Bar and as Deputy District Attorneys, and that the directive to not make strike allegations/make motions to remove existing strike allegations is possibly illegal.

Last night I reported that, according to court transcripts from a December 15 proceeding, LA District Attorney George Gascon attempted, through his special advisor Mario Trujillo, to offer a “sweetheart” plea deal to Rudy Dominguez, a gang member charged with murdering one man and shooting another during a drive-by (neither of the victims were gang members). Trujillo didn’t talk to the prosecutor assigned to the case, but instead spoke to the then-assigned Deputy Public Defender, Tiffany Blacknell – who is a member of Gascon’s Public Policy Committee and who, according to multiple sources, is about to jump to Gascon’s staff as his Director of Community Relations.

New Los Angeles DA Gascon Almost Got Away With Giving Accused Gang Murderer a "Sweetheart" 7-Year Plea Deal

Every day it becomes more clear that George Gascon will do whatever it takes to force his insane directives and policies on unwilling Deputy DA’s, judges, and victims’ families. Now, apparently, he’s enlisted his Special Advisor, Deputy DA Mario Trujillo (whom he’s used in the past to bully wayward DDA’s) to go around the prosecuting DDA and offer a “sweetheart” plea deal to the public defenders in a gang murder case.
Rudy Dominguez, now 24, is accused of murdering Fernando Rojo Jr., 26, on March 19, 2016. Rojo and another man were shot as they stood in front of Rojo’s home in South Los Angeles, victims of an apparent drive-by, gang-related shooting. Rojo, who was not a gang member, died, while his friend was wounded but recovered. Prosecutors originally (under former District Attorney Jackie Lacey) had filed a number of special circumstances allegations and potential sentence enhancements in the case, such as a gang enhancement, gun enhancement, and more. These special circumstances and enhancements dramatically increased Dominguez’s prison time exposure such that he faced life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Retaliation Has Begun Against Deputy DA Who Publicly Called George Gascon Out

Los Angeles County Deputy DA Jonathan Hatami has been the voice of hundreds of his colleagues since George Gascon was sworn in as District Attorney on December 7, speaking out against Gascon’s Special Directives on numerous talk radio and television news shows. Appearing on Fox & Friends on Thursday, Hatami basically ripped Gascon a new one.
Many people in states other than California blame Gascon’s win on liberal or uninformed California voters (forgetting that there are Soros DA’s across the country), but Hatami says the full scope of Gascon’s “reform” agenda wasn’t clear to the public:

Earlier this week we reported about intimidation and retaliation efforts aimed at Deputy District Attorneys in Los Angeles County who stick to actually representing the public and refuse to follow LA District Attorney George Gascon’s new Special Directives. One tool being used is a Google form that was set up to gather all of the particulars of any case in which a DDA didn’t adhere to said Special Directives.
Now we know that the person responsible for at least disseminating that form (and possibly for creating it) is Tiffany Townend Blacknell, a Deputy Public Defender who is a member of Gascon’s Public Safety Committee and has been outspoken about holding Deputy DA’s

Soros-funded Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascon, as we’ve reported, made major waves during his first week in office. On day one, he issued nine Special Directives instituting “criminals first” policies like failing to prosecute many misdemeanors, a blanket prohibition on seeking the death penalty or life without parole, and a ban on charging juveniles as adults. Throughout the week, victims, law enforcement officers, and court personnel were shocked to see the results of those policies in action in the courtroom (including a failure to charge enhancements or “strikes” against a man accused of decapitating two of his children).
