SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The National Weather Service (NWS) in Reno has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for elevations above 6,500 ft from 4 p.m. Saturday to 4 a.m. Sunday. Snow is expected above 6500 feet with total snow accumulations of 3 to 6 inches, up to 8 inches above 7000 feet, and up to 1 to 2 feet above 8000 feet.

Local man spends hours treading water in Lake Tahoe before being rescued

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - A 19-year-old man was pulled from Lake Tahoe Friday night after spending about three hours treading water before being rescued. At 8:17 p.m. on Friday, July 29, South Lake Tahoe Fire Rescue was called by the manager of Timber Cove Marina to assist with a water rescue on the lake.
