NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Tommy Habeeb said he’s a story teller at heart, but his latest reality show has brought him to Tennessee finding forever homes for neglected animals.
“There are some tough situations where dogs are close to death, you don’t even know how they’re still alive and then they’ll just crawl up into your lap and lick your face and give you love,” he said.
These days, the producer and host can be found filming at animal shelters across the country- it's a far cry from his previous reality shows like "Cheaters". "It was just time to do something that was important to me and rescuing dogs and people were important.”

Untangling a horse caught in a wire fence. Rappelling into a gulch to find a missing dog. Freeing a wild pig stuck in a septic tank.
It’s all in a night’s work for Suzanne Burry and Dennis Burns, the founders of Valley Isle Animal Rescue.
The couple started the nonprofit not long after they moved to Maui in 2008. At the time, the Maui Humane Society had suspended its after-hours emergency service due to funding cuts. Burry and Burns had previously run an animal rescue and sanctuary in San Diego, so they stepped up to fill the void.

Tommy Habeeb created and, for the first two seasons, hosted the ultimate guilty pleasure TV show: “Cheaters,” in which a cheating spouse or partner was trailed, pretty much caught in the act and then confronted on camera.
These days, Habeeb is producing and headlining a very different syndicated series. “To the Rescue” profiles rescue dogs and the people who rescue them — and he recently brought his crew to Utah for an upcoming episode.
