State Democrats propose 9-month stay limit in shelter funding agreement
As part of an effort to clamp shelter spending, negotiators opted for a new nine-month limit on how long families can stay in the emergency assistance program in the compromise supplemental budget bill. The bill also features two time-sensitive sections after temporary state allowances expired this spring for streamlined outdoor dining permitting and take-out cocktail orders.
