The chair man and safety board if they would paint the leave on the investigation. {off-lin {off-line} audience. john moore. good evening. i would like to know if it s possible for the transponder and other electronic devices or indicators, markers for the 777 to be switched out with a smaller aircraft or other 777s to actually hide the actual plane itself from being detected? captain, you have flown that bird. i m going to toss that to you. great. that was a great question. i have heard that one before. the 777 has two transponders. they re located in the compartment, behind and below the cockpit. you could replace the transponder with a compatible transponder and swap them out. however, the aircraft is identified by the code that you put in the transponder, the ....

something intention happened prior to it crashing. when we talk about the a-cart being turned off and then right in the small session of when there is no communication available the aircraft makes turn and we are told that is based on input into the a pilot system. that tells us it was human involvement. we see a primary blip on the radar and that tells us the transponder was turned off and stayed off. it wasn t failure. it stayed off at that altitude. i am less concerned about the ....

Potentially looking or they will be looking in the south china sea, but they looking initially. i think that s where they originally sent the search crew out. there was no debris that was discovered earlier on in that area. and so they have been able to find debris further south. this is why we re concentrating in this area. i think they have been looking for debris on the ocean and, again, these radar images that maybe several days old at this point is what they have to go on. i m sure that there will be more coming in. and you have to follow the leads. i think there is no choice. they re doing what they can do at this point. it is very interesting to me that, you know, here we are, going into another monday, another week, and still we don t know where this plane is. that s the big question, where the plane is. i have ten seconds. no distress call, nothing on the transponder, and if it was on military radar, the fact it was descending rapidly to 12,000 feet would raise my susp ....

Okay, was the turn back because they were experiencing some sort of abnormal or emergency situation that required a return back to origin? but now you couple that with the intentionally disabled of the transponders, that s not a normal act. no pilot would ever have a reason to turn off the transponder in-flight. anyone planning to disable the transponder and acars system would have to have an in-depth understanding of the ash craft. whoever altered the aircraft had to use a computer located between the pilot and co-pilot chairs in the cockpit! what are the chances that someone other than the pilot or co-pilot changed that course? reprogrammed the auto-350i lot? to reprogram the flight management system, they d have to come forward into the cockpit. and pilot and co-pilot see someone bursting through the door and fiddling with the flight management system? they d go nuts. ....
