You turn it off to on. three of the four planes hijacked, the first things the terrorists did was turn off the transponder. it seems like i no brainer. maybe they will. it s a very rare chance that the unit itself could overheat or short circuit or the pilot might consider turning it off. i want to revisit that. here s another question. after the flight redeemed missing, why was the military personnel alerted to look for the plane immediately. who wants to tackle that. great question. absolutely. it seemed to nobody cared. it was like 1:30 in the morning. all of a sudden they don t realize a plane is missing and they don t scramble or do anything. we never have seen the transcript of the internal ....

Ill-fated turn. we ve got to look at what we know. we know the acars went out of. we know the communication saying, all right good night. the transponder was turned off. it s vital. it gives position. it gives squawk, 2157. we know from yesterday what the transcript said and we know it was at flight level three-five-zero. this is unequivocal data but it s the last we have. we know that they were told to go to 120.9. they didn t go. what were the emergency protoco protocols. there was a distress cell. it has a radio to get in touch with the cockpit and talk to other aircraft in the corridors. what conversations went on with military radar? ....

Seeing right now. i ll be a little less diplomatic. i think there has been terrible mistakes made early on in the investigation. it was obvious to me early on that the malaysian government didn t have the capability of doing it. a lot of foreign governments don t. they don t have the expertise which is a good thing because there aren t that many crashes. so they never see this before. in this particular case, i understand nationalism. but they should have called in the ntsb, which foreign governments routinely do in these accident investigations. there s no pride in not knowing. the problem here is you have boeing and the malaysian government, the only two parties who are the likely responsible parties who are investigating themselves. they re running this investigation. it seems like they ve jumped to conclusions prematurely. like when they say that the transponder was turned off intentionally, no one knows that. there s no factual basis for that statement. we know it stopped working. ....

Where was the may day call and the emergency on the transponder. if it lended itself to a structural failure. they leaked that and maybe knocked the passengers unconscious. mangostein and tropical medicinal fruit and whether they had something to do with it. when you think about cargo and cabin and it s a steady stream of airflow. yes, but it s a well-known stream of airflow. so the relationship between the cargo and the cabin is not something that the aviation industry has suddenly discovered. they are aware about the gas that can extinguish. ....
