The year is 1994. On 20 December, Trevor Evans and Wilbur Bancroft broadcast to the KBNA Network about the capsizing of the S.S. Poseidon 21 years prior, and how it's wreckage falling off an undersea cliff could cause a major catastrophe. In other news, they attempt to talk about the remake ship, the S.S. Triton, however Trevor insults Wilbur's 1989 glasses. Wilbur is fired once they are off-air because he leaves to watch over his friend's house.

Aboard the S.S. Triton a few days later, on 25 December, Wilbur had invited his friends Axel and Shawn to come and film a documentary for him, where they would describe the details and differences between Poseidon and Triton. While filming in the hallway, they meet Jersey Greene whom introduces himself. Wilbur jokes around with him, calling him New Jersey. After Jersey leaves, Shawn reprimands Axel for not saying bye.

On the sun deck, Reverend Lawrence Lakeman preaches to a group of around a dozen people, including Donnie, Heather and Dyanne. He says that they must continue to donate to the church if they wish to go to heaven. Heather calls him out as "Noah didn't kill Goliath" and that Jesus would not need money. They argued, with Lawrence telling Heather that she would go to hell for being an alcoholic. After finishing the sermon, Adrian arrived late, to which Donnie scolded him and informed him that it was closing. After this, Heather and Dyanne talked in their cabin, where Dyanne was knocked unconscious by falling luggage.

In the Ballroom, Shawn, along with Wilbur, recorded Jersey and Desmond (who had just been walking outside) rehearsing for the New Years' party. After Desmond commented that they didn't have a singer, Jersey suggested that he would do it, however they reiterated they were not trying that again. Axel had been sent to look for a singer, and after a false start, he discovered Derek, who wasn't a lunatic. He hadn't sung in a while, but he was going to try his absolute best to help out.

At KBNA studios, right as Kylie Minogue and Sigrid Thornton were being interviewed, one of Trevor's colleagues commented how Wilbur was not there, however his friend explained he was fired. Martin found this comical, as it was Wilbur's first day.

As Lawrence was watching a biblical documentary on his TV, Virginia knocked on the door of his room. After singing 'Take Me Home, Country Roads' in mockery of her name, she asked when his next sermon was. After receiving her answer, Lawrence believed she was pressuring him for information that he didn't know. She apologized and assumed he knew how it felt, to which he didn't. But he did make some remarks about crimes he commited, which caused her to run away.

Nearly a week later on 31 December, Axel was making his way down the stairs in the same instance that Sergio was chopping cake and raddish. In the disco lounge, Donnie had had fourteen drinks in a half-hour, and Howard tried to stop him. After introducing himself, Donnie recognized Howard's surname because he had read about it from a newspaper in his grandmother's attic. Howard refused to give him another drink, which Donnie fought him over. The fight was witnessed by Dyanne, Heather, Wilbur and Roy.

In the ballroom, Heather makes Dyanne get a glass, but she met Jersey there who told Dyanne to ignore Heather. In the hallway, Adrian and Donnie get ready for the party. Shawn thanks Wilbur for taking them on such a nice ship instead of a tugboat, despite Axel thinking it wouldn't be so bad. Derek directs everyone's attention to the stage as he welcomes Mariah Carey, who began to sing 'All I Want For Christmas Is You'. Sergio, distracted by the defrosting, drops Heather's food, which causes her to berate and cuss at him before leaving. Shortly afterwards, Donnie and Adrian were able to feel the tremor caused by the S.S. Poseidon falling off the underwater cliff. After Derek announced 'Happy New Year', a tidal wave slammed into the ship, causing it to capsize. During the capsize, Jersey
