COVID-19 vaccine eligibility pool expands to 16 and over in New York © Provided by RADIO.COM NEW YORK (WCBS 880) — As of Tuesday, New York residents 16 years of age and older can sign up to get a COVID-19 vaccine shot. Vaccinations for younger people means a chance to return to school full time, see friends and perhaps go to prom. Those who are 16 or 17 can only receive the Pfizer vaccine. The Johnson & Johnson and Moderna vaccines have been approved for those 18 and up.
