Adams County leaders unveil new plan for blighted properties

QUINCY (WGEM) Adams County leaders said they have solution for turning blighted properties into community assets.
Adams County finance chair Bret Austin said a $200,000 Strong Communities grant from the state will allow them to bring a land bank to the area.
He said a land bank is a non-profit corporation that buys problem properties. The biggest goal behind the land bank is to turn the properties from unproductive use to productive use and do that in an area that is already in established neighborhoods in the city of Quincy, Austin said.
