A prank among three friends has been slammed by authorities as unsafe, after a jet skier was captured on video travelling dangerously close to a paddle boarder - knocking him off his feet.
The video was taken over the weekend, on the Puhoi River, and uploaded to video sharing site TikTok; showing a jet skier taking a swipe at a person on a paddle board - causing a gush of water to spray up at him. ....

Investigation by Sky News reveals thousands of children placed in unregulated accommodation, including tents, barges.
Some 10,000 children living in foster care in the UK were placed in unsafe and unregulated accommodation that included tents, barges, and caravans, according to a media report published on Friday.
A Sky News probe revealed that local councils housed vulnerable children in accommodations that were unregulated and not subject to checks by Ofsted, the government agency that inspects education and children s services institutions.
Data retrieved under the Freedom of Information Act showed that around 9,990 children were housed in unregulated accommodation by 86 local authorities between January 2019 and December 2020, the report said. ....

Unsafe lead levels have been detected in children s blood tests in east Otago.
This follows a contamination scare which has resulted in a do not drink notice and emergency water tankers.
Dunedin City Council says it may now be months before the notice is lifted for the residents of Waikouaiti, Karitane and Hawksbury Village.
