BEVERLY, MA The first coronavirus vaccine could be available to front line staff at Beverly Hospital as early as Wednesday, according to Beth Israel Lahey Health.
The health care system that runs Beverly Hospital said in a statement to Patch it expects to receive the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine in the next day or two and is planning to begin staff vaccinations the next day.
A multi-disciplinary BILH Vaccine Command Team has developed a highly coordinated, systematic plan and a consistent set of criteria for administrating the vaccine to our staff and ultimately, our patients over the next several months, said Richard Nesto, Chief Medical Officer and Incident Commander, Beth Israel Lahey Health. BURLINGTON MA, MA Officials at Lahey Hospital and Medical Center expect to receive their first shipment of the coronavirus vaccine Tuesday and Wednesday as front-line workers across the country become among the first Americans to receive the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine.
A Beth Israel Lahey Health official said Monday that the hospital will receive the vaccine within a day or two. The delivery comes after a New York nurse became the first U.S. front-line worker to receive the vaccine Monday.

BID-Plymouth hospital to start giving staff COVID-19 vaccine

PLYMOUTH – BID-Plymouth hospital will begin receiving the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine mid-week and plans to start vaccinating staff right away.
Dr. Richard Nesto, chief medical officer and incident commander for Beth Israel Lahey Health, said the hospital expects to start vaccinating staff Wednesday.
In a statement, Nesto said a multi-discipline BILH Vaccine Command Team has developed a highly coordinated, systematic plan and set of criteria for administering the Pfizer/BIONTech vaccine to staff and, ultimately, patients, over the next several months.
