IOWA CITY, Iowa – No. 7 seed Florida State Women’s Basketball ended its 2022-23 campaign after falling to 10th-seeded Georgia, 66-54, on Friday afternoon in the NCAA First Round held at Carver-Hawkeye Arena in Iowa City. The Seminoles (23-10) were without the services of proven scorers Ta’Niya Latson and O’Mariah Gordon due to injuries. WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – No. 23 Florida State Women’s Basketball got a late defensive stand to hold on to a 61-60 win at Wake Forest on Thursday night at LJVM Coliseum.
Graduate forward Valencia Myers made huge plays for the Seminoles (23-7, 12-5), scoring a season-high 18 points on 8-of-10 shooting with six rebounds, two blocked shots and seven fouls drawn. Myers scored 10 of her points in the second half, including six in the fourth quarter.

Following an offensive possession that FSU could not convert, Wake Forest got the rebound trailing 61-60 and called timeout with 2.6 seconds left to advance the ball. On the in-bounds play, FSU played the possession perfectly on defense, forcing a Wake Forest heave that would not have counted.

The Seminoles (22-7, 11-5) honored seniors Valencia Myers, Erin Howard, Taylor O’Brien and Jazmine Massengill prior to Sunday’s game. Freshman Ta’Niya Latson then did a takeover of her own when she dropped 31 points on 10-of-16 shooting, her school-record seventh 30-point game of the season and her second this season vs. the Yellow Jackets (13-14, 4-12).
