The group, led by Baltimore-based Weller Development Co. and New York-based LMXD, is one of six on a list that could be whittled down by the city as soon as next week.
“We pursue a lot of public-private partnerships, and we’ve learned that you need to do your homework when you’re coming into another market,” said Republic Properties’ Jordan Kramer.
“We’re here, we have been here,” said Mark Hourigan. “So, we understand from the ground up what the community needs and I think our team reflects that.”
A previously unknown team among the six vying to be selected for Richmond’s redevelopment project has ties to multiple pro sports venues.
The remaining teams will be asked to provide details of what they envision for the redevelopment project and how they would pull it off by April 25.
