COVID memorial portraits By Kerry Clawson - Akron Beacon Journal Florida artist Sylvia Shanahan, an Akron-area native, provides free portraits of those lost to COVID-19 through the organization Faces Not Numbers. An oil painting of Harold Arnold by artist Sylvia Shanahan is shown as part of the Faces Not Numbers project. Artists provide paintings of those who have died from COVID-19 to their family members at no charge. The oil painting of the late Harold Arnold that sits on his wife Shirley’s mantel at her North Canton home is a comfort to her after losing him in December to COVID-19.
