The Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Walw Abass, has directed the immediate deployment of tactical teams within and around Asaba, the state capital, after a middle-aged man narrated in a viral video how he was kidnapped in the capital city on Saturday around 9 p.m.   The man, a Globacom customer who made the video at the front of a Glo office in Asaba said, “It is a life story here in Asaba. I was a victim of kidnap along GLA Road around 9 p.m to 10 p.m. Everybody needs to be careful in Asaba. Asaba is not safe. I paid ransom.

A former spokesman for the House of Representatives, Eseme Eyiboh, has claimed that the N2 million holiday token recently given to Nigerian senators will not be sufficient to help them sustain engagement with their constituencies due to the economic hardship in the country.  Mr Eyiboh said this when he appeared on a live programme on Arise News TV which was monitored by SaharaReporters on Sunday night.  He claimed that there is nothing wrong in paying the lawmakers while going on holiday because the same thing is in practice in the civil service. 

A member representing Anyamelum State Constituency in Anambra State House of Assembly, Bernard Udemezue, was on Friday reportedly delayed entry into the State Assembly complex for arriving in a tricycle, popularly known as Keke Napep. In a 30-second video of the incident which has gone viral on social media, the lawmaker is heard saying, “Did you give me a car? Have you given me a car? Is it not what I have that I will use? Open this gate jare,” and asking the tricycle rider to go in but the security officers at the gate refused to allow the vehicle to enter the premises.
