We have several viewer questions. this viewer asked several months back it was advised if two people were vaccinated, they could get-togethers with reasonable safety indoors without a mask. now four months later with delta, is that the same advice? yeah, it s probably safer if you still continue to wear a mask and here is why, pamela. you know, against the original u.k. variant, the vaccines were also halting asymptomatic transmission almost as well. 90% reduction so people were not shedding virus. now with this delta variant, protection against infection seems to be going down to 40 to 50% in terms so that you could be with someone who has asymptomatic infection and shedding virus. although, it appears that such people only are shedding virus for a much shorter time, couple days. it s still unvaccinated people who are shedding most of the virus and causing most of the transmission but to be safe, it s probably better to now mask ....

Institutions and others the courage to actually say, you know, we re going to oblige everybody who works here to have the vaccine. it s in their best interest, the best interest of their clients, their customers and their fellow workers. that would be very welcome. could give them the ammunition they ve been waiting for. what about kids vaccine approval? will fda approval help speed that along? those are separate issues. we have to wait for the data in the children. we want those clinical trials to be thorough and complete before we start vaccinating younger children. every parent would want that. it s going to take a little more time. it will probably come through end of the fall, beginning of the winter sometime. that s the anticipation. i ve been getting a lot of viewer questions. one of the big questions i ve been getting is how does delta s increased transmission affect outdoor transmisability? ....

Clinicians what you just heard there that these boosters are not likely to be recommended. so, we ll see. but i think it s very clear that there s not a lot of cohesion even among the various federal health agencies about what to do regarding these boosters. yeah. and that is very confusing. so let s clear up what we can of some of this confusion by answering some viewer questions, sanjay. lisa from new jersey has a good one. i m wondering why i didn t think of this. i m sure a lot of us haven t. new guidance is for a third dose at eight months. does this mean eight months from the second dose or eight months from the two weeks after the second dose when you re fully vaxed. it may not surprise you based on what you just heard in terms of whether this is even happening, we don t know the answer to that. the new york times originally when they reported this said it would be two months after your second dose. i think there s been some clarification if this does happen that it would ....

If you re intubated. and also, let s remember, a lot of people are not getting tested. especially people who are vaccinated and if you have a cold, you re thinking, i don t have covid. so i think that you can multiply that 200,000 potential daily cases by ten fold. let s talk about that. we had some viewer questions and one question just about that. generally, this viewer asks, what symptoms or actions should make me a fully vaccinated person suspicious enough to get a covid test? right. so early on in the pandemic, we were talking about the shortness of breath, fever and chills. you can still get all of those flu-like illness. i m seeing a lot in my praf patients with just a cold. you can have a sniffle, which is scary, and you can still actually have covid. and remember, because the vaccine works really well, it decreases the viral count, you could may not be short of breath. you may have a headache and a ....
