University of Kentucky’s most talented students, faculty and staff welcome you back to campus to ring in the holidays Wildcat style. From visual art selections for the choosiest of gift recipients to halls filled with the beloved sounds of the season, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
The Bolivar Art Gallery kicks off its exhibitions this year by featuring works from home. Recent works by select faculty members from the University of Kentucky School of Art and Visual Studies will be featured in “Faculty Series: VOL. VI,” the sixth annual exhibition in the series. The free public exhibit, which runs Aug. 25-Sept. 23, will open with a reception 4-6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 15, at the gallery in the Art and Visual Studies Building.
Each year, the school hosts a series of free, public talks with scholars and artists concerned with contemporary visual culture. The Visiting Artist Series features lectures, exhibitions and workshops in cooperation with the Art History and Visual Studies program.
The free public exhibitions will open with each artist talking about their respective exhibits beginning noon Friday, Jan. 14.
