On April 29, 2023, the Louisville Orchestra and members of the Louisville Chamber Choir, which includes two of UK's own, will be performing in Mammoth Cave alongside world-renowned cellist Yo-Yo Ma to celebrate the rich history of Mammoth Cave.
Smith has established scholarships for current voice students and music education students. There are three awards for 2023: the Reginald Smith, Jr. Diversity Scholarship in Opera (one undergraduate award and one graduate award) as well as the Reginald Smith, Jr. Diversity Scholarship in Choral Music Education (one undergraduate award).
