Morning lane restrictions on KY 54 in Owensboro next week

Officials with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) say in preparation for the KY 54 widening project in Daviess County later this year, a contractor working for the KYTC will begin the process of mounting signal control radar between Highland Pointe and Commonwealth Court beginning on April 29, resulting in lane restrictions at multiple intersections during the next two weeks.

Project to widen KY 54 in Owensboro set to begin this week

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) says getting around on Kentucky 54 in Owensboro will be getting a little easier as a project to widen the roadway is set to begin on March 28. KYTC says KY 54 may be one of the busiest stretches of roadway in Daviess County, so in order to accommodate existing traffic, and to allow for continued development in the area, KYTC is beginning the process of widening the roadway to three-lanes in each direction and adding a concrete safety median for added safety.
