State of the State Part IV focuses on development

Gov. Cuomo delivered his fourth and final part of his series of the State of State Thursday. Cuomo talked about big public projects the state has already completed in his tenure.
The governor says now is the time for the government to spark the economy with development.
Those plans include converting an underutilized exit ramp in Albany into a landscaped park with event spaces, and a path connecting several Downtown Albany neighborhoods.
Cuomo says he expects the $11.4 million project to be done this year.

NEW YORK CITY Planes, trains and automobiles are the lynchpin of a far-reaching $306 billion infrastructure plan for New York that Gov. Andrew Cuomo unveiled Thursday, calling it the largest, most ambitious plan put forward by any state in the nation.
In his fourth and final State of the State address Thursday, Cuomo outlined a strategy of using public-sector investment in transit and transportation infrastructure to lift New York s economy up from the pandemic-era slump with such projects as expanding Penn Station, redoing the Port Authority Bus Terminal, extending the Second Avenue Subway to East Harlem and continuing work to modernize LaGuardia and JFK Airports. ....

2020 Year in Review: Plainfield Redevelopment

PLAINFIELD, NJ TAPinto Plainfield takes a look at some of our top stories on redevelopment projects that defined 2020 in the Queen City. At a 2020 budget presentation in May, Department of Economic Development Director Valerie Jackson said going into the year, there was $1 billion in private investment in the pipeline, representing around 5,000 residential units, and over 500,000-square-feet in retail.
Jackson noted, We also were looking at, from a goals perspective for 2020 in constructing. or starting the construction of approximately 2,000 residential units, and almost 400,000-square-feet of retail.
