Damaging tornado in Duval County
In Duval County, a damaging tornado began at 4:45 p.m. Wednesday at 6 miles north-northeast of Mandarin and continued 3.75 miles to an area 4 miles south of Arlington where it ended at 4:51 p.m.
The tornado, rated EF-1, had estimated peak winds of 105-110 mph, the weather service reported.
According to the weather service survey summary, the tornado initially touched down along San Ardo Drive, northeast of Beauclerc, damaging some homes near Goodby's Creek. The tornado continued northward, through San Jose, with damage reported along Old Kings Road and Powers Avenue, just west of Baker-Skinner Park, where several trees were completely uprooted.
