Should Iowans Skip The J&J Vaccine? The Answer is NO
There's more good news for Americans when it comes to the COVID-19 pandemic: a third vaccine will likely be approved this week, or very early next week. This new vaccine, made by Johnson & Johnson, is a one-dose shot that has been found to be safe and effective. However, it's
less effective than it's Pfizer and Moderna counterparts. According to a CNN report, the new Johnson & Johnson vax is 66.9% effective in preventing moderate to severe/critical COVID-19 symptoms after about 14 days of receiving the vaccination. It is 66.1% effective at least 28 days after vaccination is administered.
