The 19th century British inventor William Cantelo was a rather eccentric man who set up a shop of curiosities in the early 1870s on French Street in Southampton. On display were various oddball inventions that he had come up with over the years, which always turned heads, but Cantelo himself began to spend more and more time away at a more secret location working on something he claimed to be revolutionary and a game changer.
