While Barrett has dabbled in directing over the years — most notably the “Tape 49” segment of horror anthology V/H/S/2 —  Seance marks his debut as a feature director. The film is set at a prestigious girls boarding school where one student dies shortly after a prank seance ritual, which may have actually awoken a dead former student who reportedly haunts the halls of the academy. Shortly after the tragedy, a new student arrives, Camille Meadows ( Suki Waterhouse), who is immediately tormented by the school’s mean-girl pranksters. But Camille has a secret agenda, fearlessness, and...

California’s churches are on a roll. After more than a year of legal tussling with state public health officials over restrictions on indoor gatherings, houses of worship — mostly evangelical or Catholic and politically conservative — have been on a winning streak at the nation’s highest court.  Their latest victory came late last week when the U.S. Supreme Court’s conservative majority put a hold on the state’s limits on indoor Bible study and other forms of worship. I’m thrilled that California Rifle & Pistol Association president and general counsel Chuck Michel could join me on today’s program as w...

In recent days, there have been several rumors linking Chicago Bulls shooting guard Zach LaVine to the New York Knicks. Last week, it was reported that the Knicks are closely monitoring the former slam dunk champion's situation with the Bulls in hopes of potentially acquiring him prior to the March 25 deadline. Given those reports, as well as LaVine's frequent mentions in trade rumors and ideas, NBA Analysis Network suggested on Wednesday that the Knicks could get him for a package featuring three bench players and several future draft picks. As noted by the publication, the Knicks have a nu...
