..FOUR DAY WORK-WEEK – A Congressman from California, Mark Takano, reintroduced a 32-hour Workweek Act to Congress. If passed, that would amend the Fair Labor Standards Act and would officially reduce the standard definition of a workweek as 32 hours instead of 40. This would also apply to hourly jobs and anything over 32
The bill would not eliminate longer workweeks but would require employers to pay time-and-a-half for overtime at 32 hours.
The Congressional Progressive Caucus endorsed a bill by Rep. Mark Takano, known as the 32 Hour Workweek Act.
