Reporter i talked to a couple of people this morning that say their homes are within a couple of inches of taking on water and because they didnt they stuck around. I want to show you, you see somebody try to work through elfers parkway here. You can see the water flowing. There people can get home. Not so much here but some spots the current is so strong it can sweep you away. Further down the parkway, footage from yesterday, you can see water much higher, families forced to use canoes to get back and forth or wade through water that is not very clean. Many have gone through this before and that could be a reason mandatory evacuations are not enough to get them to vacate their property. There are people that live here, most of their lives.
